When the ceiling can no longer be fixed and floated because the perimeter connections are overloaded, the next support option is to use seismic gaps. Seismic voids divide the ceiling into smaller spaces that can then be fixed and floated. The seismic cavity itself will act as a sliding edge allowing differential movement and the opposite perimeters of the roof must be fixed to transfer seismic loads back to the structure.
Seismic gaps in tile and grid ceilings can be easily achieved with the use of seismic clips, including the Türktav Seismic Suspended Ceiling clip (DH4).
These clips allow for floating seismic wall systems. It is designed to be used with seismic suspended ceiling T-15, T-24 and Clip-in systems.
